Scarlett Nightingale doesn’t have the most glamorous life but she’s thankful for it. All that changes with a blood contract. Her life will never be the same. Scarlett goes through quite a bit at the hands of others and so she escapes with her dreams. While dreaming she is visited by Cain (The Elite King and Dream Eater), Cage (Vampire Assassin), and Sabre (Vampire Prince) who find out they are all mates. What ensues is pain, betrayal, lust, and love.
I enjoyed this story, got lost in it and cared about the characters. I felt the author did a good job of distinguishing what was dream and what was reality. Readers should keep in mind that this is a slow burn if you are expecting lots of spice right away. I didn’t get bored with this one, it held my interest and made me want to know more.
I really got caught up in this world and thankfully this is book 2 of a series of connected standalones. So, I will be reading the 1st and 3rd book as well!
